Under the theme of solidarity and inclusion, the Soroptimist Club Marrakech Founder organized an exceptional charity evening on Saturday, May 31, 2025, in support of the schooling of 230 girls from rural areas for the 2025–2026 academic year. The event took place in the prestigious setting of the Grand Mogador Agdal Hotel – Palais des Congrès, in Marrakech.

This initiative is part of a spirit of solidarity that the Club has embraced since its inception. Reinforced in the wake of the devastating earthquake of September 8, 2023, this mission is rooted in deeply human values: education, mutual aid, and sustainable development of rural communities.

The President of the Club, Mrs. Hanna Maelainine, took this opportunity to pay heartfelt tribute to Mrs. Touria Binebine, the founding president of the Club and a true emblem of women’s social action. A tireless activist behind the scenes, Mrs. Binebine is hailed as the spiritual mother of a societal project built on the educational and civic inclusion of rural girls.

Marked by the strong presence of academic, economic, diplomatic, and civil society figures, the evening offered powerful moments of testimony. Several young women who benefited from the educational integration program spoke. Whether doctors, engineers, or students in law and languages, they shared moving stories filled with gratitude toward the Soroptimist Club and its partners.

In a warm and festive atmosphere, several artists lit up the stage with generosity and talent. Nabila Maan, Karima Gouit, Tarek Hmiti, Adel Echbi, and the legendary group Fnaïre joined their voices to turn the evening into a true anthem of solidarity, blending Moroccan heritage, modernity, and Oriental music.

Since its foundation, the Soroptimist Club Marrakech Founder has worked tirelessly to improve the living conditions of women, particularly in the field of health:

Organizing major medical caravans for mothers and children;

Campaigns for early detection of breast and cervical cancers;

Psychological and medical support for affected women.

Educating Rural Girls: A Strategic Priority

Understanding that women’s empowerment begins in childhood, the Club has made the education of rural girls a strategic priority. Thanks to this deep commitment, hundreds of young girls have been able to pursue their studies and realize their ambitions. Today, they are doctors, engineers, researchers, or doctoral candidates.

A better future starts today by supporting girls’ education. The Soroptimist Club Marrakech Founder is living proof of this.
