As part of its socially impactful and inclusive educational programs, the Soroptimist Club of Marrakesh – the founding chapter – organized an exceptional charity evening in support of the schooling of 230 rural girls for the 2025–2026 academic year.

This event, held on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at the Grand Mogador Agdal – Palais des Congrès in the Red City of Marrakesh, is part of an active solidarity initiative that the club has championed since its establishment in 2020. The initiative gained even more significance following the devastating earthquake that struck Morocco on September 8, 2023.

This distinguished humanitarian and social gathering carried profound messages of gratitude and heartfelt recognition, most notably in the eloquent speech delivered by Ms. HANAE MAE ELAÏNIN, President of the founding Soroptimist Club of Marrakesh. In her address, she paid tribute to a towering figure of national, societal, and humanitarian standing: Professor TOURIA BENBINE – the club’s founding president and the spiritual mother of the initiative for the educational and societal integration of rural girls. A compassionate community leader, Professor Bennani has long been a driving force behind numerous philanthropic efforts, acting with humility, integrity, and tireless dedication – all while shunning the limelight.

The event was graced by a wide range of prominent figures from across Moroccan society, including university presidents, deans, professors, business leaders, diplomats, and members of the civil society.

One of the evening’s most moving moments came when several graduates of the club’s inclusive educational program took the stage.
